East Los Angeles, California (February 24, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early on Monday morning in East Los Angeles, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The pedestrian accident happened on the southbound 5 Freeway at the transition to the southbound 710 Freeway at approximately 3:40 a.m.
As per the CHP report, the unidentified pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while walking on the highway for undisclosed reasons.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash resulted in the closure of all lanes of the southbound 5 Freeway past the 710 connector up to 6:30 a.m. as the investigation and cleanup took place.
The CHP is still investigating to identify the cause of the accident.
