4 Injured in Discovery Bay Car Accident at Highway 4 and Discovery Bay Boulevard
Discovery Bay, California (August 9, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Sunday afternoon two-vehicle accident that left four people injured in Discovery Bay.
The crash happened at about 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 4 and Discovery Bay Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a blue Toyota pickup truck collided with a silver Ford Mustang at the intersection.
The pickup truck was reportedly driving at about 65 mph before it struck the Ford. The Ford was turning onto the boulevard.
Four Hurt in Traffic Collision at Highway 4 and Discovery Bay Boulevard
Two people were airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek in unknown condition.
Two other victims sustained minor injuries in the accident.
Traffic on the westbound lanes of Highway 4 was shut down briefly due to the accident. The roadway was reopened after tow trucks towed the damaged vehicles.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
