Diana Schalk Killed in Car Crash on SR 299 near Grizzly Gulch Road in Redding, Shasta County

Redding, California (February 3, 2020) – 27-year-old Diana Elizabeth Schalk of Kentucky has been identified as the woman who was killed in a suspected DUI car accident that happened on Wednesday, January 29, in Redding.
The accident happened on State Route 299 near Grizzly Gulch Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Elizabeth Schalk was driving a 1992 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck when she collided with a 1999 Toyota pickup truck driven by 42-year-old Hawk Blaze Bergstrom of Redding.
Diana Schalk is Killed in Redding DUI Car Accident
Schalk sustained major injuries in the accident and was taken to an area hospital. Sadly, she died while undergoing treatment.
Bergstrom was also injured in the accident and was taken to Shasta Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
No other information about the accident was provided.
The authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
