Princeton, California (June 25, 2020) – A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident that left an ATV rider seriously injured in Colusa County in Late May.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 45 in Princeton on May 31.

The authorities said Raymond Michael Zapien was driving a 2014 Buick LaCross northbound on the highway when he drifted off the road for unknown reasons and struck an ATV operated by Destiney Sorrels.

The impact of the collision ejected the ATV rider, leaving him with major injuries. He was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Raymond Zapien Arrested in Yuba City after Hit-and-Run ATV Accident

Zapien reportedly crashed into another car before fleeing the scene on foot. He was arrested in Yuba City on Wednesday, June 24.

Zapien’s passengers, Skye Flores and her 15-year-old son remained at the scene of the accident.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
