Derris Kennedy Arrested after Semi-Truck Crash on 5 Freeway in Los Banos
Injuries Reported in Los Banos Truck Crash on 5 Freeway near Derrick Avenue, Derris Kennedy Arrested
Los Banos, California (October 15, 2020) – A semi-truck driver was arrested after leading the officers on a chase along Interstate 5 Freeway in Los Banos on Thursday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about noon on southbound 5 Freeway near Derrick Avenue.
The chase reportedly started in Stockton and ended in Los Banos when the truck driver crashed into three vehicles and overturned.
The authorities said individuals in the smaller vehicles suffered minor injuries in the crash.
The truck driver, who has since been identified as 26-year-old Alabama resident Derris Marquis Kennedy, was arrested on multiple charges including reckless driving causing injury, hit-and-run, resisting arrest and battery on a peace officer.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
