Man Killed in Coaster Train Accident at Eighth Street and Stratford Court
Del Mar, California (January 18, 2019) – A man was hit and killed by a Coaster train Friday afternoon in the area of Del Mar, according to a local news source.
The accident happened a while before 1:30 p.m. Friday, at Eighth Street and Stratford Court.
As per the report, the Coaster train was traveling northbound at around 50 mph when it struck the victim.
Responding officials pronounced the man dead at the scene. The victim’s name was not immediately released awaiting notification of next of kin.
Officials said that the collision caused rail service to stop for several hours through the area.
