Redding, California (January 5, 2019) – An officer was hospitalized Thursday night after an alleged DUI crash in Redding, police said.

The accident happened at about 10:05 p.m. Thursday, January 3 on Cedars Road near Kenyon Drive.

According to the police, Jason Paul Snider, 45, was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse at a high rate of speed on Cedars Road when he rear-ended a marked police car driven by Dave Chapman.

Officer Chapman, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Shasta Regional Medical Center.
