Joshua Tree, California (November 12, 2019) – One of the three victims injured in a traffic collision involving multiple vehicles in the area of Joshua Tree on Monday afternoon has been identified as Dakota Drazkowski of Cheyenne.

The California Highway Patrol said the multi-vehicle collision happened at about 1:25 p.m. on November 11, along highway 62 near Copper Mountain College.

As per the CHP report, a Pontiac Sunfire driven by 26-year-old James Peabody eastbound on the highway approaching Rotary Way left the roadway and struck the guardrail for unknown reasons.

Peabody lost control of his vehicle and crossed over into the westbound lanes, striking a Nissan Sentra driven by 24-year-old Alejandro Medina. The Pontiac then struck a Dodge Ram driven by Drazkowski.

Due to the impact, the Nissan rolled over into the desert on the north shoulder of the highway while the Dodge rolled over into the westbound lanes of the highway.

Peabody’s Pontiac also rolled over into the westbound lanes upon the impact.

The investigation is still ongoing.
