Cristian Lopez ID’d as 19-Year-Old Pomona Man Killed in San Dimas Crash on 57 Freeway near Covina Boulevard

San Dimas, California (March 10, 2021) – Cristian Alexander Herrera Lopez, 19, Pomona, has been identified as the man who was killed in a Tuesday morning traffic accident in San Dimas, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
The deadly crash happened at around 11:18 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, on 57 Freeway, just south of Covina Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda Civic was traveling on the right shoulder of the 57 Freeway when it crashed into the back of a parked 2016 Freightliner truck.

Sadly, the driver of the Honda, Lopez, was declared dead at the scene.
It was not immediately clear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
Police closed the No. 3 and 4 lanes of the freeway due to the crash.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
