Cornelio Cornejo Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Eastin Road near Shiells Road in Newman
Newman, California (October 25, 2019) – A man died after being hit by a car as he pruned trees at a home in Newman on Friday morning.
The fatal accident occurred at about 7:45 a.m. on Eastin Road near Shiells Road, according to a local news source.
33-year-old Francis Coronado was driving a GMC Yukon northbound on Eastin Road when a cat ran from an orchard and into the roadway causing the car to swerve off the roadway.
The car continued into a home and crashed into a tree that was being pruned by 48-year-old Cornelio Cornejo of Los Banos.

The impact of the collision knocked Cornejo off the ladder.
The authorities are yet to determine if Cornejo was struck by the Yukon.
A helicopter landed at the scene and the paramedics performed CPR on Cornejo.
Sadly, the man died at the scene.
Coronado suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Two children in the car were unhurt.
