Contra Costa County, California (March 11, 2021) – A pedestrian died Thursday evening after being struck by multiple vehicles in unincorporated Contra Costa County, the California Highway Patrol reported.

As per the report, emergency crews responded to northbound Kirker Pass Road, just north of Nortonville Road, after reports of a pedestrian hit by a car at around 8:19 p.m.

An initial investigation determined that the pedestrian had been hit by several vehicles, including a Lexus SUV, a pickup truck, and a BMW sedan.

Pedestrian Killed in Contra Costa County Accident

Emergency personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene, the report said.

It remained unclear why the pedestrian, whose name and gender were not mentioned, was within the roadway at the location, as per CHP.

The report added that all occupants of the vehicles involved were not injured. They all remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Alcohol or drugs did not appear to be factors contributing to the accident for all the drivers involved.

CHP is investigating the crash.
