42-Year-Old Discovery Bay Woman Killed in Contra Costa County Accident on Gateway Road near Piper Road
Contra Costa County, California (December 9, 2019) – A woman was killed in a fatal auto-pedestrian accident that occurred on Saturday evening near Bethel Island in rural Contra Costa County, according to a local news source.
The incident was reported at about 6:35 p.m. December 8, on Gateway Road west of Piper Road.
According to the report, CHP responded to a report of a woman lying along the road. The victim, identified as a 42-year-old Discovery Bay woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
42-Year-Old Woman Killed in Contra Costa County Pedestrian Crash
A 56-year-old Bethel Island man reportedly called the authorities later and told them that his grey Honda might have struck the woman. CHP said the Honda had damage that was consistent with such a crash.
The driver cooperated with the authorities and did not show signs of impairment.
The CHP is conducting an investigation into the crash.
