Contra Costa, California (April 11, 2019) – Minor injuries were reported after a big rig crash early Thursday morning in Contra Costa, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at around 12:54 a.m. Thursday, on eastbound Highway 4, just west of San Marco Boulevard off-ramp.

As per the CHP officials, three vehicles including a big rig crashed for reasons still under investigation.

An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the injured parties. The number of victims and their current condition was not immediately known.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the cars from the crash site.

The vehicles were blocking the lanes following the crash. The roadway was cleared as of 4:16 a.m.

No additional information concerning this incident was provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
