Clinton Eugene Deckert II ID’d as Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Central Avenue at Bella Vista Road in McKinleyville
McKinleyville, California (May 21, 2019) – The man who was killed in a hit-and-run accident in McKinleyville on Saturday morning has been identified as Clinton Eugene Deckert II, 47, of McKinleyville, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at about 7:28 a.m. May 18, on Central Avenue at Bella Vista Road.
As per the report, Deckert was walking along Central Avenue in a northerly direction when a 1997 Toyota Rav4 traveling north made a turn and drifted into the side. The driver hit Deckert and then fled the scene of the crash.

Deckert was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver later called the authorities and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The crash is under investigation.
