51-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Clairemont Accident on State Route 52 near Genesee Avenue
Clairemont, California (March 3, 2019) – A 51-year-old woman was struck and killed by two vehicles on Thursday morning in Clairemont, as per a California Highway Patrol report.
The incident was reported at about 4:30 a.m. February 28, on State Route 52 near Genesee Avenue.
According to the authorities, the woman was walking in the eastbound lanes of State Route 52 near Genesee Avenue when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle. She was subsequently struck by a second vehicle.
Both drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman was wearing a flip-flop distributed to patients at Sharp Memorial Hospital and police are working to determine if the woman was a recent patient at the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
