48-Year-Old Chula Vista Man Killed in Escondido Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 15 near Via Rancho Parkway

Escondido, California (December 21, 2020) – A motorcyclist was killed Sunday night in a traffic accident on an interstate in Escondido, according to a local news source.
The deadly crash happened at around 9:55 p.m. Sunday, December 20 on Interstate 15 near Via Rancho Parkway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said a Harley Davidson Softail, driven by a 48-year-old Chula Vista man, was transitioning from the Centre City Parkway on-ramp onto southbound Interstate 15 when it collided with a Toyota Tundra that was traveling in the far right lane.
The motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the accident, according to the authorities.
After the impact, the motorcyclist lost control and was thrown into traffic lanes, where he was struck by several other vehicles.
Deadly Motorcycle Accident in Escondido
The motorcyclist died as a result of the crash. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The No.3 and 4 lanes of southbound Interstate 15, the Centre City Parkway on-ramp, and the Via Rancho Parkway ramp were closed as the investigation and cleanup took place.
The crash remains under investigation.
