2 Injured in Chula Vista Car Accident at Rutgers Avenue and Otay Lakes Road
Chula Vista, California (May 30, 2019) – Two people were hurt in a crash caused by a chase suspect on Wednesday afternoon in Chula Vista, according to a police report.
The incident took place just after 2 p.m. May 29, at the intersection of Rutgers Avenue and Otay Lakes Road.
A man was involved in a robbery incident at the California Coast Credit Union branch at 300 East H Street. The suspect then fled in a station wagon after the incident and failed to stop for officers who tried to pull him over.
2 Hurt in Chula Vista Car Accident
Police pursued the vehicle and the chase ended when the suspect ran a red light at the intersection of Rutgers Avenue and Otay Lakes Road and slammed into another car.
The suspect and the driver who was struck, were both transported to a hospital for treatment of minor-to-moderate injuries.
The suspect was later taken into custody.
Police are investigating the incident.
