Chico, California (May 9, 2019) – Minor injuries were reported after a big rig crash early Thursday morning in the area of Chico, according to authorities.

The crash happened at around 12:47 a.m. Thursday, on northbound Highway 99 near Esplanade.

As per the CHP officials, a fuel semi-truck tanker and a vehicle crashed for unknown reasons.

An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the injured parties. The number of victims and their current condition was not immediately known.

The tanker truck was leaking fuel following the collision.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.
