Charles Melton Among 2 People Killed in Bakersfield Crash on Highway 65 near James Road
Bakersfield, California (July 26, 2021) – Charles Elbert Melton, 85, of Delano, has been identified as one of the two parties who were killed in a Saturday afternoon traffic accident in Bakersfield, according to the coroner.
The accident occurred at around 1 p.m. July 24, on Highway 65, just south of James Road.
Authorities said a Dodge caravan heading south on Highway 65 swerved into the northbound side and collided with an oncoming Chevy suburban.

Sadly, Melton who was in one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene. Blas Roman Jr., 27, of Porterville, the driver of the other vehicle, was also pronounced dead at the scene.
More details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
