Ceres, California (May 22, 2021) – One person was seriously injured Friday night in an alleged DUI crash at an intersection in Ceres, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The major injury traffic collision was reported at around 8:55 p.m. Friday, May 21, at the intersection of Crows Landing Road and Service Road.

Two vehicles collided at the Ceres intersection, the CHP report states.  After the impact, one of the vehicles crashed into a tree.

CHP said one patient was transported to a nearby hospital with major injuries. The name and condition of the victim were not immediately disclosed.

Investigators determined that one of the drivers was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The intersection of Crows Landing and Service roads was shut down during the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation.
