1 Injured in Castaic Crash on 5 Freeway near Rye Canyon Road

Castaic, California (June 10, 2019) – One person was injured after a multi-vehicle collision Sunday evening in the area of Castaic, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at around 6:39 p.m. Sunday, June 9, on 5 Freeway, near Rye Canyon Road.
As per the CHP officials, three vehicles collided for reasons still under investigation.

An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the crash victims. One party was transported to the hospital for treatment. The name of the patient and their current condition were not immediately known.
A dog in one of the cars was involved in the crash but was unhurt. The dog was transported to Castaic Animal Shelter after the collision.
Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.
Authorities blocked lane 1 to give way to an on-scene investigation and a clearing operation.
An investigation is ongoing.
