Carmel Valley, California (June 21, 2020) – A motorcyclist died, and another one sustained serious injuries following a multi-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Carmel Valley.

The fatal motorcycle accident was reported at approximately 10:48 a.m. near the intersection of Camp Steffani Road and State Route 16.

As per the California Highway Patrol report, an SUV driven by an 89-year-old party collided with two different motorcycles at the Carmel Valley intersection for unknown reasons.

Both riders were rushed to the hospital where one of them, 54-year-old Fremont resident, was pronounced dead. Pending notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.

The second unidentified patient was listed in critical condition, the CHP reported.

It was not mentioned whether or not the involved motorist was injured following the mishap.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
