2 Men Injured in Carlsbad Car Crash on Alicante Road near Tanzanite Drive
Carlsbad, California (December 29, 2020)- Two people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a traffic accident in Carlsbad, according to a local news source.
The major injury collision happened at about 12:41 p.m. on Alicante Road, just south of Tanzanite Drive, and involved two SUVs.
According to police, a Honda CR-V, driven by a 62-year-old Carlsbad man, was heading northbound on Alicante Road when, for unknown reasons, the Honda drifted into the southbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming Dodge Durango driven by a 44-year-old Oceanside man.
Authorities said the Honda driver was speeding prior to the collision.

The driver of the Honda sustained major injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The Durango driver had minor injuries. The names and conditions of the victims were not immediately disclosed.
Both drivers were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles. It is undetermined whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
