Arizona Woman Sustains Major injuries in Carlsbad Bicycle Accident on Circulo Sequoia; Suspect Arrested

Carlsbad, California (February 1, 2021) – A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Sunday morning in Carlsbad, according to a local news source.
The major injury collision was reported at around 10:40 a.m. Sunday, January 31, on Circulo Sequoia, just northeast of La Costa Canyon High School.
Authorities said the bicyclist, only identified as a 65-year-old Arizona woman, was hit by a vehicle for unknown reasons on Circulo Sequoia.
Major Injury Hit-and-Run Accident on Circulo Sequoia in Carlsbad
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found the Arizona woman unconscious in the roadway. She was transported to a local hospital with major injuries.
The driver of the involved vehicle did not stop to render aid to the bicyclist and fled the scene. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a black “lowered” Cadillac.
Authorities later located the Cadillac abandoned a short distance away from the crash site. The driver, only identified as a man, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a hit-and-run crash.
