Norwalk, California (February 21, 2020) – The bicyclist who died following a hit-and-run bicycle accident that happened in Norwalk earlier this month has been identified as 31-year-old Carla Becerra of Lakewood.

The bicycle collision took place on Saturday, February 1, on San Gabriel River near Firestone Boulevard and Imperial Highway.

Becerra was riding her bicycle on a trail along the San Gabriel River when a motorcycle operated by 29-year-old Brandon Lindsley of Norwalk struck her.

Brandon did not stop after hitting Becerra and fled the scene.

Authorities said Becerra, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, was ejected from her bike upon the impact.

Becerra died at Coast Plaza Medical Center, where she was admitted after the wreck.

Meanwhile, police arrested Lindsley and charged him with felony vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and hit-and-run resulting in death or serious injury, along with a special allegation of personally inflicting grave bodily injury.

The accident remains under an active investigation.
