California City, California (May 30, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Tuesday night traffic accident that left two people injured, including a California City police officer in California City.
The accident occurred at about 8:58 p.m., on May 25, on Neuralia Road.
According to the officials, the officer was transporting a suspect to the Kern County Jail in Bakersfield when a vehicle, driven by a 27-year-old Stephen Johnson, struck it.
Johnson was reportedly headed eastbound in the westbound lane when the accident occurred.

Both the officer and the suspect were injured in the accident and were hospitalized for treatment.
Johnson was under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Johnson was arrested and taken to Kern County Jail.
