1 Killed, 1 Critically Hurt in Buttonwillow Multi-Vehicle Accident on 5 Freeway Near Twisselman Road

Buttonwillow, California (September 17, 2019) – One person was killed and another seriously hurt in a traffic collision involving trucks in Buttonwillow on Saturday night.
The collision happened just after 7:30 p.m. September 14 along the 5 Freeway near Twisselman Road.
Officers said a Ford truck was traveling north on the 5 Freeway, just south of Twisselman Road when it collided with a tractor-trailer for an unknown reason. Due to the impact, the Ford rolled-over and ended up on its roof after the crash. The vehicle spun out of control and was hit by another big rig which was also headed northbound on the freeway.

The Ford driver who was identified as a Tracy woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her kid passenger sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The identities of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released to this time.
The drivers of the two tractor-trailers were not injured in the wreck.
Meanwhile, the cause of the wreck remains under an active investigation.
