1 Airlifted After Butte City Accident on Highway 162

Butte City, California (July 9, 2021) – One person was airlifted with major injuries after being involved in a traffic collision on a highway in Butte City Friday afternoon.
The major injury accident happened on state Route 162 (Biggs-Willows Road) at around 2:25 p.m.
As per the California Highway Patrol report, a U-Haul box truck crashed with a Ford Explorer on July 9 under unclear circumstances.
Due to the impact, the Ford acquired major front-end damage.

One person, whose name was not revealed, was flown to Enloe Medical Center with a major leg injury.
Officials requested tow trucks to remove both wrecked vehicles away from the crash site.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
