Brea, California (January 19, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident Saturday evening on the 57 Freeway in Brea, according to authorities.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly wreck was reported at around 5:42 p.m. on the northbound Orange Freeway at the eastbound Imperial (90) Highway on-ramp.

The CHP said a motorcycle collided with a vehicle for an unknown reason.

The rider died in the crash. The name of the victim has not been released pending identification and notification of family.

As of 5:54 p.m. a SigAlert was issued for all northbound lanes, just south of Imperial Highway. Traffic was diverted at Yorba Linda Boulevard.

The CHP said all lanes were reopened at around 7:55 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
