Man Killed, Woman Airlifted after Highway 111 Collision at Keystone Road in Brawley

Brawley, California (January 1, 2019) – A man lost his life, and a woman was hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision that happened early Monday morning in Brawley, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at about 3:48 a.m. where Highway 111 meets Keystone Road.
According to CHP Officer Lt. Daniel Hesser, a 53-year-old Seeley man was traveling eastbound on Keystone Road and entered the intersection on a green light. At the same time, a woman who was southbound on Highway 111 did not notice she had a red light and entered the intersection colliding with the car that had the green light.
The Seeley man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The female driver sustained severe injuries including a broken leg. She was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
CHP is investigating the accident.
