Rider Killed in Clairemont Bicycle Collision on Genesee Avenue near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard
Clairemont, California (July 23, 2021) – A bicyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Clairemont on Friday evening, according to San Diego police.
The incident happened on Genesee Avenue south of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard at about 5:30 p.m.
Police said a man riding a motorized bicycle turned onto Genesee Avenue from Sauk Avenue and swerved into the path of a 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 63 S driven by a 30-year-old man.
The vehicle rear-ended the bicyclist.

Police said the bicyclist died at a hospital.
The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The incident is under investigation.
