Man Killed in Berkeley Car Accident on Interstate 80 near Gilman Street
Berkeley, California (August 19, 2020) – A man was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Tuesday afternoon in Berkeley, authorities said.
The deadly crash occurred at around 3:00 p.m., on August 18, on the eastbound I-80 lanes near the Gilman Street on-ramp west of Buchanan Street.
According to the CHP, a green Toyota Tercel was traveling at a high rate of speed before changing lanes and hitting a black Lexus IS 350.
As a result of the collision, the Toyota lost control, struck the center divider, and careened into a blue Ford Ranger sport-utility vehicle, the officials said.

A male driver in the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other reported injuries were reported in the crash.
Drugs or alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the mishap.
