At Least 1 Suffers Serious Injuries in Berkeley Crash on 80 Freeway near University Avenue Off-Ramp

Berkeley, California (July 23, 2021) – At least one person sustained major injuries in a two-vehicle collision that happened early Thursday morning on a freeway in Berkeley.
The California Highway Patrol said the wreck took place at around 2:32 a.m. on eastbound 80 Freeway, near the University Avenue off-ramp.
Two vehicles collided for unknown reasons, both ending up on the right-hand shoulder.
Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated one person who was trapped inside one of the vehicles.
The report said at least one person suffered major injuries in the collision.
No other information was given, but CHP is investigating.
