Bennie Nevarez ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in Commerce Crash on 5 Freeway near Terra Bella Street
Commerce, California (March 5, 2021) – Bennie Nevarez, 61, has been identified as the pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle on Thursday night in Commerce, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
The deadly pedestrian accident occurred at about 9:40 p.m., on March 4, on northbound 5 Freeway just south of Terra Bella Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Nevarez was struck by a vehicle on the transition road from the northbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway to the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway.

Sadly, Nevarez sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
