70-Year-Old Woman Injured in Benicia Pedestrian Accident on East Fifth Street
Benicia, California (January 6, 2019) – A woman was struck and injured by a hit-and-run motorist Saturday evening in Benicia, police said.
The accident was reported at around 6:15 p.m. Saturday, January 5 in the 1000 block of East Fifth Street.
According to the police, the 70-year-old woman was lying by the side of the road on East Fifth Street when she was hit by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.
The elderly woman was found unconscious by emergency responders. She was then was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her name and condition at this time remained unknown.
Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver. Anyone with information regarding this accident is urged to contact the Benicia Police Department at (707) 745-3411.
