Person Injured in Beaumont Pedestrian Accident on Beaumont Avenue near California Avenue

Beaumont, California (January 17, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle Thursday afternoon in Beaumont, authorities said.
The accident took place just before 1:00 p.m. on Beaumont Avenue, just south of California Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking on Beaumont Avenue when for reason still under investigation they were struck by an unspecified vehicle.
Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the pedestrian who was pinned underneath the vehicle. The person sustained moderate injuries and was rushed to a local hospital by ground ambulance.
The crash caused the closure of Beaumont Avenue between California Avenue and 1st Street as emergency crews worked at the scene. As of 1:30 p.m. the road was reopened.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
