San Bernardino County, California (December 23, 2020) – A 58-year-old Barstow man died after being hit by a vehicle Monday night in San Bernardino County, according to a local news source.

At about 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, the California Highway Patrol officers responded to Yermo Road, just north of Fort Irwin Road for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

According to the CHP, the man was struck by a 2005 Toyota while standing in the northbound lane of Yermo Road.

Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Car on Yermo Road Monday

Paramedics responded to the crash and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of his relatives.

The driver of the Toyota stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. The CHP said the driver was not able to see the pedestrian in the roadway and hit him.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.
