Motorcyclist Dies in Bakersfield Crash on Highway 99 near Rosedale Highway

Bakersfield, California (April 27, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday evening in a traffic accident in Bakersfield, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash occurred at about 6:29 p.m. on the southbound side of Highway 99 near Rosedale Highway.
According to the CHP, the collision involved a motorcycle, a semi-truck, and a box truck.
The CHP said it appears that the motorcyclist was splitting lanes prior to the accident.
Deadly Motorcycle Accident on Highway 99 in Bakersfield
The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene. The name of the rider has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Police shut down the No. 2 and 3 lanes on southbound Highway 99 near Airport Drive while the investigation and cleanup took place.
The crash remains under investigation.
