Driver Airlifted after Bakersfield Crash on Highway 43 at Jack Avenue

Bakersfield, California (September 21, 2020) – A driver was seriously injured Monday morning in a traffic accident in Bakersfield, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The major-injury collision happened a little after 6:00 a.m. on Highway 43 at Jack Avenue, just outside Shafter.
As per the CHP report, a big rig was attempting to make a U-turn when a pickup truck struck its trailer.

The driver of the pickup was airlifted to Kern Medical with major injuries. The name and condition of the patient at this time were not immediately provided.
All northbound lanes of Highway 43 were closed as the investigation and cleanup took place.
