Rider Dies after Bakersfield Crash on 17th and Union Avenue

Bakersfield, California (March 16, 2019) – A motorcyclist who was hospitalized after being involved in a crash with a vehicle on Thursday morning in Bakersfield has succumbed to the injuries, according to the authorities.
The wreck happened at about 10:30 a.m. March 14, on 17th and Union Avenue.
Police said a Dodge Avenger made a U-turn in front of the motorcyclist, causing the rider to strike the back of the car.
The impact ejected the rider and threw him onto the air before landing on the roadway.

The paramedics transported the victim to a hospital with major injuries and was pronounced dead at 3:54 a.m. Friday, March 15.
The driver of the Dodge remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
Police said alcohol and drugs were unlikely factors in the crash.
The Bakersfield police are investigating the incident.
