Bakersfield, California (August 13, 2020) – One driver was killed and another was injured Thursday afternoon in a traffic accident in Southwest Bakersfield, according to a local news source.
Authorities said the fatal crash happened at around 2:25 p.m. on Berkshire Road.
A Sedan was heading eastbound on Berkshire Road when, for unknown reasons, it veered into the westbound lane, where it collided with an oncoming pickup truck hauling a trailer, according to the police.

The Sedan driver died at the scene. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of family.
The operator of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
A section of Berkshire Road was closed due to the deadly crash.
Authorities believed that speed played a role in the collision.
The accident remains under investigation.
