Baker, California (May 27, 2021) – One person was airlifted to a trauma center following a fiery collision involving a pair of big rigs in Baker early Thursday morning, authorities said.
At around 5:19 a.m., authorities responded to northbound Interstate 15 near mile marker 143 for a report of a traffic accident.
Authorities arrived at the scene and determined that two tractor-trailers collided on the northbound side of the interstate. One of the semi-trucks caught fire after the impact.

Authorities said one patient was flown to the trauma center in critical condition. The name of the victim has not been released.
The crash prompted the temporary closure of all three lanes on the northbound 15.
