Austin Rodes Dies in Chatsworth Motorcycle Crash on Devonshire Street and Mason Avenue
Chatsworth, California (March 12, 2020) – A Northridge man was killed in a motorcycle collision that occurred on Tuesday night in Chatsworth, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The deadly wreck happened at around 9:32 p.m. March 10, in the area of Devonshire Street and Mason Avenue.
According to the report, the rider was trying to make a left turn onto southbound Mason Avenue when he was hit by a Mini Cooper traveling eastbound on Devonshire Street.
The impact ejected the rider into the roadway. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Austin Rodes Killed in Chatsworth Motorcycle Collision
The rider, later identified as Austin Daniel Vargas Rodes, 26, of Northridge, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other serious injuries were reported.
Authorities said the wet roadway may have contributed to the accident. Alcohol and drugs were not suspected.
Police are investigating the incident.
