Bakersfield, California (June 1, 2021) – The Kern County Sheriff’s Office has identified the motorcyclist who died Saturday morning in a collision with a truck in East Bakersfield as Austin Ray Dennis, 26.

The deadly crash occurred shortly after 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at the intersection of Brundage Lane and Madison Street.

Police said Dennis was riding his motorcycle in the area when, for unknown reasons,  he crashed into the side of a truck.

The truck flipped onto its side upon the impact.

Deadly Motorcycle Crash in East Bakersfield

Emergency personnel responded to the crash and pronounced Dennis dead at the scene.

The driver and the passenger of the truck were transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Both were only identified as a man and a woman.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the collision.

A GoFundMe account has been created to help cover funeral expenses for Dennis.
