Augusto Martinez Seriously Hurt in Fatal Amador County Crash on Highway 16 Near Welsh Pond Road
Amador County, California (April 1, 2020) – One of the people who sustained major injuries in a deadly head-on crash on Sunday night in Amador County has been identified as Augusto L. Martinez, according to a local news source.
The fatal collision was reported shortly before 8 p.m. March 29, along Highway 16 near Welsh Pond Road.
The accident involved a 2013 Volkswagen Passat and a 2018 Chevy Cruze that collided head-on along the highway for reasons still under an active investigation.

The Chevy motorist, who was identified as a female party, and her juvenile male passenger were declared dead at the scene by fire department officials along with the medical personnel.
Martinez and two other people riding in the Volkswagen sustained major injuries following the crash. The three Sacramento residents were transported to valley trauma centers for treatment.
The wreck resulted in the closure of Highway 16 for several hours as investigation and clean up took place.
The CHP is still investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
