Lakeland Village, California (October 21, 2020) – Arturo Swadener, 66, of Lake Elsinore, was arrested after a deadly hit-and-run accident that happened Tuesday morning in Lakeland Village, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, on Grand Avenue near Turner Street.

Police said the pedestrian, a 65-year-old Lake Elsinore man, was struck by a 2004 Nissan Titan truck driven by Arturo Swadener, 66.

Swadener did not stop after the wreck and fled the scene.

Fatal Lakeland Village Hit-and-Run Crash Tuesday Morning

Sadly, the pedestrian died in the accident. His name was withheld pending notification of family.

Officials later located Swadener on Aldelfa Street and arrested him on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
