Arnold, CA: Major Injury 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 4
2 Injured, 1 Airlifted, after Arnold Crash on Highway 4 near Calaveras Big Trees State Park Entrance
Arnold, California (April 17, 2021) – A two-vehicle collision has left two people injured Friday morning in the Arnold area of Calaveras County, authorities said.
The major injury collision, which involved a sedan and a pickup truck, was reported at around 10:27 a.m. Friday, April 16 on Highway 4 near the entrance to the Calaveras Big Trees State Park.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda Civic sedan collided with a Ford F-250 pickup on Highway 4.
2 Injured in Highway 4 Accident
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated one person who was trapped in their vehicle.
The CHP said a 25-year-old woman was airlifted to a hospital with head injuries. A 68-year-old man was transported via a ground ambulance to a nearby hospital after complaining of dizziness.
The names and conditions of the patients were not immediately disclosed.
The eastbound lane of Highway 4 was closed following the crash. Motorists were asked to use alternate routes.
The Arnold car accident remains under investigation.
