Aptos, California (November 14, 2020) – The Aptos man who was injured in a two-vehicle accident last week Thursday in Aptos has died, authorities said.

The accident happened at about 5:00 p.m., on November 5, at the intersection of Freedom Boulevard and Valencia Road.

According to the CHP, a 2010 Dodge Caravan, driven by the 69-year-old Aptos man, was traveling northbound on Freedom Boulevard when it made a left turn onto Valencia Road.

Unfortunately, the Dodge turned directly in front of an oncoming southbound 1999 Ford E150, and the two vehicles collided at the intersection, the officials.

The Aptos man was injured in the accident and was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment. He was later taken to Mills-Peninsula Medical Center in San Mateo County, where he succumbed to his injuries on Friday, November 13.

The condition of the Ford’s driver, a 64-year-old Watsonville resident, was not immediately available.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
