40-Year-Old Driver Killed, 1 Injured in Apple Valley Truck Accident on Bear Valley and Joshua Streets

Apple Valley, California (February 4, 2019) – A person was killed and another was injured Sunday night in a two-vehicle collision in Apple Valley, authorities said.
The deadly wreck happened at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, February 3 near the intersection of Bear Valley and Joshua streets.
According to the authorities, a Chevy Malibu driven by a 40-year-old Apple Valley resident collided with a truck for an unknown reason near the intersection.
The driver of the Malibu was declared dead at the scene. The name of the deceased victim has not been released pending identification and notification of family.
A passenger in the Malibu was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The crash led to the closure of Bear Valley Road between Central Road and Highway 18 as the scene was cleared.
An investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing.
