Irwindale, California (March 29, 2021) – Antonia Ramirez, 22, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a hit-and-run bicycle crash in Irwindale, according to the coroner’s office. 

The deadly accident was reported at about 1:21 a.m. at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Huntington Drive.

Authorities said a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Huntington Drive when it hit Ramirez.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found Ramirez lying down in the roadway. Sadly, Ramirez was declared deceased at the scene.

The involved driver fled the scene after the accident but was later located in the area of Francisquito and Sunset avenues. The suspect, Adrian Ortega, 21, of La Puente, was ultimately arrested and booked into jail on charges,  including felony vehicular manslaughter, felony drunk driving, and felony hit-and-run. His bail was set at $100,000.

The intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Huntington Drive was blocked between Irwindale Avenue and Encanto Parkway due to the accident.

Further details about the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
